The Challenge

System Optimization

After the product launch, the client received positive market feedback — but they wanted to improve the service by implementing more advanced features. However, lots of performance issues arose during the development process. The client set out to find a technological partner that would be able to optimize the system so it can be used by thousands of users and be updated with new features when needed.

In order to offer the most fitting technological solutions, we thoroughly evaluated the current state of the product, researched the market, and analyzed the client’s business goals. Our aims were to enhance system performance, boost system security, and implement more advanced reputation management features.

We used the .NET framework while working on system algorithms as well as reports and analytics features.

System Performance Optimization

The platform is now used by thousands of physicians, and one of its features is monitoring patient reviews across various platforms such as Google, Healthgrades, Vitals, WebMD, and Yelp. So that the product can successfully serve its users, it should be able to quickly retrieve information from various sources and accurately analyze large volumes of data.

In order to evenly distribute all requests, ensure stable performance, and minimize maintenance-related costs, we focused on database optimization and multilevel caching.

Data Security Tactics Implemented

Langate also created a credible security system that protects data from cyber attacks and other fraudulent actions.

rater8 can be integrated with practice management systems in order to automatically request, collect, and analyze patients’ feedback. To provide this service, rater8 processes HL7 files containing patients’ appointment information. For security reasons, only a patient’s name, email, address, and mobile number are encrypted and archived in the rater8 database, while all other patient-related information remains hidden.

This means that healthcare organizations don’t need to worry about patients’ diagnoses, prescriptions, past procedures, and other medical data being compromised and used by third parties.

System Algorithm Improvement

Langate worked on improving rater8’s algorithm that helps organizations easily reach their reputation management goals. We created a system where facilities can specify the amount of reviews they want and how often they want to be added to each review platform. Based on this information, the algorithm automatically requests feedback from patients and redirects them to the platforms where the reviews should be placed.

Reporting and Analytics Feature Development

Langate created a reporting and analytics dashboard for rater8 that allows healthcare organizations to analyze reviews for each individual physician or office location. By highlighting similar patterns, the feature helps entities detect and address problems in their online reputation as well as identify their competitive advantages.
