Such statistics clearly illustrate the importance of reputation management in healthcare.
One of our clients decided to address the issue of reputation management and created a platform that helps healthcare organizations monitor online reviews, enhance patient feedback, and improve an entity’s online presence.
Rater8 is the leading company in healthcare reputation management. They provide high-quality services for healthcare institutions allowing them to stand as reputable organizations. With Rater8 organizations can monitor online mentions of their companies and address negative reviews in a timely manner, encourage patients to leave their feedback on major review sites, and have full control over their online reputation.
After the product launch, the client received positive market feedback and wanted to improve the service by implementing more advanced features. However, during the development process, lots of performance issues arose. The client started seeking a technological partner that would be able to optimize the system, so it can be used by thousands of users and be updated with new features when needed.
In order to offer the most fitting technological solutions, we thoroughly evaluated the current state of the project, researched the market, and analyzed the client’s business goals. We set a goal to enhance system performance, boost system security, and implement more advanced reputation management features.

The platform is now used by thousands of physicians and one of its features is monitoring user’s reviews across various platforms such as Google, Healthgrades, Vitals, WebMD, and Yelp. In order to successfully serve its users, the service should be able to quickly retrieve information from various sources and accurately analyze large volumes of data.
In order to evenly distribute all requests, ensure stable performance and minimize maintenance-related costs we focused on database optimization and multilevel caching.
Langate has also created a credible security system that protects the data from cyber-attacks or other fraudulent actions.
Rater8 can be integrated with practice management systems in order to automatically request, collect and analyze patients’ feedback. To provide this service, Rater8 processes HL7 files containing the patient’s appointment information. For security reasons, only patient name, email, address, and mobile number are encrypted and archived in the Rater8 database, while all other patient-related information remains unrevealed.
So healthcare organizations shouldn’t worry about patients’ diagnoses, prescriptions, past procedures, and other medical data being compromised and used by third parties.
Langate worked on improving Rater8’s algorithm that helps organizations easily reach their reputation management goals. We created a system where facilities can specify which amount of reviews and how often they want to be added to each review platform. Based on this information the algorithm automatically requests feedback from patients and redirects them to the platforms where the reviews should be placed.
Langate created a reporting and analytics dashboard that allows healthcare organizations to analyze reviews for each individual physician or office location. By highlighting similar patterns the feature helps entities detect and address problems in their online reputation as well as identify their competitive advantages.
